The purpose of the PV Sharks Booster Club is to strengthen the Ponte Vedra High School’s athletic programs through fundraising and volunteer support of PVHS. It takes our entire community of parents and business leaders to build a strong tradition of athletic success at PVHS. We invite you to be part of our TEAM!
WHY IS YOUR DONATION CRITICAL TO THE SUCCESS OF PVHS ATHLETICS?
The St. Johns County School District limits funds to high school athletic programs. All sports at Ponte Vedra High School are funded in part by the Athletic Department in the form of proceeds from gate revenue, facility rentals and contributions. The remainder of the funds (roughly 85% of the total annual cost) required to support the athletics at PVHS, comes directly from the PV Sharks Booster Club.
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
Each individual sport is funded by its own team booster club, which operates under the umbrella of the General Booster Club. When you join, the majority of your donation goes directly to your sport(s) of choice; the remainder goes to General Boosters to support the general support needs of all the PVHS sports teams, fields, courts, insurance, taxes, capital improvements, etc.
The individual team booster clubs supports expenses specifically related to that sport: uniforms, travel, meals, equipment, etc. Depending on the sport, these expenses can be anywhere from about $200 per player to over $2,000 per player. In instances where the team goes deep into the playoffs, this number rises dramatically as additional expenses are incurred.
The General Booster Club supports a broad range of requirements, such as maintenance and capital improvements to playing venues and cross-sport infrastructure projects, and other operating expenses, which can average $40,000-$60,000/year. They work closely with the Athletic Director to determine and prioritize the athletic needs of the school and hold fundraisers and events to support these needs. Boosters also funds 2 annual athletic scholarships. This past year, we were able to purchase many of the school’s wish list items to improve our athletic facilities: a new scoreboard for the gymnasium, athletic medical tables, a volleyball net and pole system, glass basketball backboards, softball stadium netting, weight room equipment, music screening software, PVHS logo tablecloths for athletic events, monthly field maintenance, coaches banquet dinner, and so much more…
Your support, through membership and other fundraising activities of the PV Sharks Booster Club, is essential to keeping our athletes on the field/court. We encourage you to join the booster club and become part of the support behind our young athletes.

Instead of waiting until winter or spring to sign up, it makes sense to sign up now and receive the benefits of Booster Club membership (see next page for all benefits). If your student, or the family, enjoys going to games throughout the year, why wait, sign up now instead of later! You can designate which sport you would like your funds to go towards!
